Day 7 - Rangrik Bridge 63 kms - 3650 metres ! " It's Spitting in Spiti"!

The clouds were ominous as a backdrop to the harsh & timeless landscape. With way too much sun during our previous cycling I was willing it to rain but true to the nature of the landscape all we got was 3/10's of stuff all !

Taking a valley route out of camp we were soon tested with a 10 km climb to a spectacularly located Monastery at over 3800 metres ! Taking lunch nearby we took in the incredible scenery of this ancient land.

Payback time was an amazing descent on switchbacks back to the valley floor leaving both Graham & Pete with maniacal smiles of exhilaration !

The remainder of the day saw us battling the tough dirt roads and then a persistent headwind before we passed through Kasa to our open campsite at Rangrik Bridge 7.kms out of town.

After 4 testing days on the bikes it's time to take 5 with  tomorrow being a well deserved rest day !.

Anan - replacement guide while Geiyshu recovers !

A character - our driver Nannuck !

A tough climb to the Dhankar Monastery at 3,900 metres !

What a downhill !
