We'd left Rangrik Bridge after our rest day refreshed but disappointed that were still unable to connect with the world either by Wi Fi or through the phone service (connection for non locals almost impossible)
The road out of camp at least gave some promise as we journeyed along the valley floor with great views of the impressively perched Keylong Monastery.
Unfortunately as the scenery improved the road detioriated to the point where I gave serious thought to boarding the support van for the last 7 kms to camp. To think that NZ mates of Pete back home had done this same route unsupported with panniers on their bikes had both Pete and i feeling incredulous !
The real cost of the day was to our 2nd support vehicle which shredded two tyres requiring our driver Nanuck to drive all the way back to Kasa to affect repairs
For the rest of us it was "Ice Station" 'Kunzum' as we camped at the foot of the Kunzum' La in temperatures plummeting by the minute contemplating whether we'd get the same shit road conditions tomorrow !
